Petoskey waterfront (5/7/2011)
We've been having some pretty rainy weather here in Northern Michigan.
last week the sun poked out for a whole day, reminding us that springs is here,
and summer is just around the corner.
Being a new resident of Petoskey, I thought that I owed the city a trip to the
waterfront. I threw the dogs in the car, grabbed my camera bag, and headed
for the break wall. I got there just as the sun was setting and ended up getting
some pretty powerful images.
Here is my favorite shot .
Landscapes ans cityscapes are nice, but for me you can't beat something
with people in it. You can say so much, while saying so little!
This couple came down while I was setting up my tripod. They looked
exhausted from their bike ride and quickly asked me if they were in my way.
I said "no" and snapped some photos while they were trying to recover.
Here are the specs.
Canon 60d in .RAW, Sigma EX 10-20mm @10mm
(shutter = 1/400, f/5.0, ISO = 100)
In Adobe's RAW i adjusted my white balance to warm the shot up,
added some fill light and added to the blacks.
Here are some others that turned out !
Petoskey is an awesome town. The waterfront is going to quickly become one
of my favorite places to shoot, this I'm sure of.
